About the Festival

GDIF takes place in June 2014 with the main opening show on Friday evening, "Maure" by Voala, staged in front of the National Maritime Museum with an aeriel performance and live music. In front of the Cutty Sark "Soul of Fado" by Nuno Silver and wandering the streets after a start in Alfege Park "Deblozay" by Rara Woulib, Dance with the Dead (pictured below). Saturday and Sunday continued with a wealth of performances in the main area at King Charles Lawn/Monument Gardens with satellite performances across the river of "Safe House" which we didn't get to see. The dance had some great backdrops in Docklands. Closing was in Woolwich at the Royal Arsenal a week later with "Arka" by the Polish company Teatr Osmega Dnia.
